Information we collect
- You give us: name, phone, WhatsApp number, email, delivery address, products you're interested in, and any messages you send.
- Automatically: pages visited, device type, approximate location (city), referrer, and basic interaction events – via Google Analytics 4.
- From third parties: payment confirmation status (when applicable) and delivery courier status updates.
Legal basis for processing
- Contract: to prepare quotes, fulfil orders, deliver products, and provide warranty service.
- Legitimate interest: to secure the site, prevent fraud, and improve our products and customer experience.
- Consent: for marketing emails and any non-essential cookies – withdrawable any time.
- Legal obligation: for tax, accounting, and lawful information requests from competent authorities.
How long we keep it
We keep data only as long as we need it for the purpose collected:
- Quote enquiries: 18 months from last activity.
- Orders, invoices, receipts: 7 years (Uganda Income Tax Act).
- Warranty & service records: term of warranty + 1 year.
- Marketing list: until you unsubscribe.
- Analytics (GA4): 14 months.
- Backups: 7-day point-in-time + 12 weekly snapshots.
Who we share data with (sub-processors)
We never sell your data. We share only with the providers we need to run the service:
- Cloud hosting & database provider – application hosting, database, authentication.
- Email delivery provider – transactional and marketing emails.
- Google Analytics 4 – aggregated traffic measurement.
- Delivery couriers – name, phone, address, items, only for orders being delivered.
- Payment processors (DPO Pay, MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money) – only when a payment runs.
- Messaging platforms (WhatsApp Business by Meta, SMS aggregators) – the phone number and message content you send to us or that we send to you about your order.
- Authorities – when legally compelled (court order, tax audit, Uganda Revenue Authority EFRIS reporting).
CCTV at our branches
Our shops and warehouse are monitored by CCTV for the safety of customers, staff and stock. Recordings are kept for up to 30 days and are only reviewed when investigating an incident or when required by law. Signs are displayed at each entrance.
Children
Our website and services are intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers
Some sub-processors host data outside Uganda (EU, US). We rely on each provider's standard contractual safeguards and select providers with recognised certifications.
Your rights
You can ask us, at any time, to:
- access a copy of the data we hold about you;
- correct anything that's wrong;
- delete your data (subject to legal retention);
- export your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent for marketing;
- lodge a complaint with Uganda's Personal Data Protection Office (PDPO).

Regulator & complaints
MPB Electronics Ltd is registered (or in the course of registering) as a Data Collector, Processor and Controller with Uganda's Personal Data Protection Office (PDPO) at the National Information Technology Authority – Uganda (NITA-U). If you are not satisfied with how we've handled your data, you can lodge a complaint directly with PDPO at pdpo.go.ug.
Cookies & analytics
We use a small set of essential cookies for site functionality (session, cart). Google Analytics is loaded in cookieless / consent-free measurement mode where possible. You can disable cookies in your browser settings – some features may stop working.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Database access uses row-level security so each user only ever sees their own records. Administrative access is restricted by role and audited.
Changes to this policy
Material changes will be announced on this page and, where you've given us an email, by email. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
