Warranty period by category
| Category | Warranty period | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Diesel generators (Perkins, Cummins, FAW, Ricardo) | 12 months engine · 6 months alternator · 1,000 running hours (whichever comes first) | 250-hour first service is compulsory and must be done by an MPB-approved technician. |
| Petrol generators (open-frame & portable) | 6 months | Wear items excluded (see below). |
| Solar panels | Up to 25 years performance (per manufacturer, e.g. Canadian Solar, Jinko) | Physical damage on delivery must be reported within 24 hours. |
| Inverters & hybrid inverters | 2–5 years (per manufacturer, e.g. Deye, Growatt, Victron) | Must be installed on protected circuits with correct earthing. |
| Batteries (Lithium) | 3–5 years or defined cycle count | Kept above 20% SoC. Deep discharge voids the warranty. |
| Batteries (Lead-acid / Gel / AGM) | 12 months | Correct charging profile required. |
| Solar controllers & balance-of-system | 12 months | Overcurrent protection must be installed. |
| Water pumps (submersible, surface, solar) | 12 months motor · 6 months controller | Dry-running voids the warranty; float switch strongly recommended. |
| Welding machines (ARC, MIG, TIG) | 6 months | Consumables (electrodes, wire, gas nozzles) not covered. |
| Workshop & power tools | 3–6 months (per manufacturer) | Carbon brushes, chucks, blades are wear items. |

| Accessories & spare parts | 30 days (fit-for-purpose) | Not returnable once fitted unless faulty. |
What is covered
Manufacturing defects, premature component failure under normal use, and faults that were present at delivery.
What voids the warranty
- Installation by anyone other than a qualified electrician / technician. Keep the installer's receipt.
- Damage from voltage spikes, lightning, or grid surges where no protection device was installed.
- Missed scheduled services (particularly the generator 250-hour first service).
- Use of non-genuine consumables (fake oil, wrong-grade fuel, non-approved batteries).
- Physical damage, water ingress on non-IP-rated equipment, transport damage after delivery is accepted.
- Attempts to open, modify, or repair the unit outside our workshop.
- Wear-and-tear items: filters, spark plugs, oil, brushes, belts, hoses, fuses, cables.
How to make a claim
- Locate your invoice or order reference (format
MPB-ORD-XXXXXXorINV-YYYY-####). - WhatsApp us with the invoice number, a short description, and 2–3 photos or a 30-second video of the fault: open WhatsApp.
- We reply within 24 working hours with an RMA number and next steps (workshop bench-test, on-site visit, or direct replacement).
- If a workshop inspection confirms the fault, repair or replacement is at no cost to you. If the fault is outside warranty (see above), we send a written quote first.
