Buying water pumps in Uganda
- Match the pump to your head (how high it must lift) and flow (litres per hour) — not to horsepower alone.
- Suction pumps cannot draw water from deeper than about 8 metres; below that you need a submersible.
- For irrigation, size the pump against the rain gun or sprinkler set you plan to run.
- How much does a water pump cost in Uganda?
- Small domestic surface pumps start around a few hundred thousand shillings; booster sets, larger irrigation pumps and solar pumping kits run into the millions. Current prices for everything in stock are in the table on this page.
- Which pump is right for my borehole?
- Tell us the depth to water, the depth of the borehole and how much water you need per day. Anything deeper than roughly 8 metres needs a submersible pump sitting in the water rather than a surface pump.
- Do you supply pipes, foot valves and fittings?
- Yes. Suction pipe, delivery pipe, foot valves and fittings are stocked alongside the pumps so you get a working set in one delivery.
- Do you install pumps?
- Our technicians install and commission pumps in and around Kampala and travel upcountry for larger jobs. Ask for an installation quote with your order.
