Buying generators in Uganda
- Size the set to your real load in kVA, not to the biggest number on the label.
- Silent (soundproof) sets cost more but are the only sensible choice in a residential area.
- Diesel wins on running cost above roughly 5 kVA; petrol wins on purchase price below it.
- How much does a generator cost in Uganda?
- Small portable petrol sets start in the low hundreds of thousands of shillings, mid-size home sets sit in the low millions, and silent diesel standby sets run higher again. The live table on this page shows the current price of every set we hold.
- What size generator do I need?
- Add up the wattage of everything you want to run at once, then add about 25% headroom for motor start-up. Fridges, pumps and welders draw far more on start than when running. Send us your list and we will size it for you free of charge.
- Do you deliver outside Kampala?
- Yes. We deliver countrywide. Kampala deliveries are usually same or next day; upcountry goes by bus or courier with the cost quoted before you pay.
- Is installation and servicing included?
- Delivery is charged separately, and our technicians can install, wire a changeover switch and service the set. Ask for a service quote when you order.
